Day 1 Nairobi - Tafaria Castle and County Lodge

Drive North of Nairobi across the Kenyan Highlands, through pineapple and coffee plantations. Arrive at the Tafaria Castle and Country Lodge located on Nyeri- Nyahururu Highway in time for lunch( or Dinner). Relax at the lodge as you enjoy the facility and Activities at the lodge ranging from Cycling, Outdoor gym, pool table, badminton, play station 4, chess, yoga, ball games, big screen movies, scrabble, Kids kingdom (slides, swings, seesaw, trampoline, bouncing castle), Bird watching at Nano conservancy. You can also have horse riding and Archery at an extra cost. After Dinner you can join other guests at the fire place as you catch up and make friends. Overnight at the lodge.

Enjoy your breakfast, You can enjoy all the activities offered at the Castle. Room Check out is 1000hrs but you can still enjoy the facilities till time for lunch (provided for those who arrived after lunch). Extra Lunch can be obtained at an extra cost.

  • Departures are daily and based on per person sharing rate( min 2 pax)  and on self Drive.
  • Transport can be organized on request.
  • A person staying in a single room pays a supplement. Easter weekend has a supplement
  • Rates are based on Damsels, Damsels plus, vikings,knights and manor. Lord,s room, Lords's court, Lost Knight and Old House attract a supplement

Payment Policy

 A 50% deposit is payable on confirmation of booking and the balance is due before the date of check in.

Bookings not secured by the appropriate deposit will be released automatically and without prior notification

Cancellation Policy

  • For bookings cancelled or reduced in numbers between 34 and 15 days from the date of arrival, 50% of the contract rate will be charged
  • For bookings cancelled or reduced in numbers between 15 and 08 days from the date of arrival, 75% of the contract rate will be charged
  • In the case of cancellation within 7 days of the date of arrival, or in the case of ‘No show’, 100% of the value of the booking will be charge

About the Place

 Tafaria Castle County Lodge and  Conference Center located on a hill halfway between Nyeri and Nyahururu next to the Aberdare Ranges overlooking the Laikipia plains. The Castle building houses the main reception, the Ballroom used for dining, the Moat bar, the Dungeon with a disco and big screen cinema, the Bailey coffee lounge the Lord’s room and the Lord’s court. It is surrounded by the swimming pool, the Tennis court, the open-air Roman type amphitheater, the conference center, horse stables and various accommodation rooms.
